Rosemarkie Beach: One of the Black Isle’s Best Coastal Stops

One of the most beautiful beaches in the Eastern Highlands, Rosemarkie Beach is a stretch of golden sand that’s perfect for leisurely walks along the shore. There’s parking in the village, but the beach is best accessed via a walk through nearby woodland, where you’ll find the Fairy Glen and waterfalls.

In summer, the Rosemarkie Beach Cafe serves filled rolls, snacks, and ice cream from a nearby dairy. Back in the village, The Plough Inn is a reliably good place to stop for a pint of local Cromarty beer. Or head into neighbouring village Fortrose for lunch at Bakhoos Bakery or IV10.

Rosemarkie Beach Location

You’ll find Rosemarkie Beach, just outside Rosemarkie village. From here, you can easily continue your route along the Black Isle towards Fortrose or Cromarty, linking together a string of small coastal villages and stops.
