our FAQs
-
Generally we find email best, but we’re happy to chat via WhatsApp also. On the Full Service package you are also entitled to a planning call and departure call; both are optional.
We operate Monday to Friday, responding to emails within 24–48 hours during business hours. Clear and timely communication helps keep your itinerary running smoothly. We ask clients to reply to proposals and any questions that significantly affect planning within two weeks. If we don’t receive a response within that timeframe, your itinerary may be considered complete, and a small admin fee may apply to restart the process. Full details can be found in our Terms & Conditions. -
We handle hotel and tour bookings, dining reservations, and activity confirmations on your behalf (via secure online payment links so you stay in control).
We don’t book flights or car rentals, but we’ll provide recommendations and guidance on the best routes, suppliers, and timings to make these simple to arrange yourself.
-
Every package includes one round of complimentary revisions once you’ve reviewed your initial proposal. We want your itinerary to feel right for you — whether that means adjusting pacing, adding an experience, or swapping accommodation.
-
Yes — if you choose our Full Service Itinerary, we’ll handle hotel research, availability checks, and bookings on your behalf. For Route Planning, we’ll provide a curated list of recommended stays to suit your style and budget, but you’ll make the bookings directly. Our Finishing Touches service offers suggestions only, perfect if you’ve already booked but want to refine your trip.
Note that we do not recommend Airbnbs, but we do have trusted cottage rentals we work with.Where we book accommodation, we do so on your behalf as the traveller. This means you’ll be the named guest, and any amendments, cancellations, or future correspondence will be handled directly between you and the accommodation provider. We’ll ensure everything is confirmed correctly at the time of booking and provide full documentation for your records.
Sadly we cannot book accommodation for groups. -
Yes — we regularly design extended or more complex itineraries, including multi-region routes, themed trips, and group travel. These often involve more coordination, logistics, and custom research, so an additional fee may apply.
Examples of complex trips include:
Multi-activity adventures (e.g. hiking, kayaking, and wildlife trips)
Activity-specific itineraries such as extended hiking routes or whisky tours
Elopements or special occasions requiring bespoke arrangements
Group or multi-family travel
Multi-week road trips covering several regions of Scotland
If your trip falls into one of these categories, we’ll discuss any additional costs before confirming your booking, ensuring full transparency from the start.
-
As far in advance as possible. Scotland’s best hotels, restaurants, and tours book up quickly, especially in high season. If your travel dates are short notice, we’ll always do our best to help — but options may be more limited.
-
All itinerary services are non-refundable, so we strongly recommend having adequate travel insurance that covers cancellation for any reason. Once we begin planning, your itinerary involves significant time, research, and partner coordination, which is why we can’t offer refunds. If you need to postpone, we’ll always do our best to accommodate a new date where possible.
-
The Route Planning package gives you a curated Scotland route and personalised recommendations — you make your own bookings and decide how to fill in the details. The Full Service Itinerary, on the other hand, is a concierge-style experience where we handle all the bookings and logistics for you. Both are fully tailored; the difference lies in how hands-on you’d like us to be.
-
Yes — we can design bespoke trips for couples, families, and small groups, typically up to two couples or two families travelling together. Both Route Planning and Full Service Itinerary packages can accommodate these groups.
Please note: for groups or families booking more than one room, we do not book accommodation directly but will recommend family/group friendly stays which suit your budget — you will be responsible for securing rooms based on our recommendations.
In some cases, group itineraries may involve extra planning and coordination, which could incur an additional fee.
All itineraries are tailored to your group’s interests, pace, and style, whether that’s gentle sightseeing, hiking, food and whisky experiences, or a mix of activities.
-
No — we do not offer refunds, and we do not provide payment plans. Once planning begins, your itinerary involves significant research, partner coordination, and bespoke arrangements, which is why full payment is required upfront and cannot be refunded.
We will not start work until payment has been received. This ensures that your itinerary is prioritised and we can commit fully to crafting your bespoke plan.
For full details, please see our Terms & Conditions.
If you have any questions or concerns before booking, don’t hesitate to contact us. We’re happy to talk through your trip and make sure our services are the right fit for you.

Why choose us to plan your Scotland trip? Our itinerary planner, Lesley, has lived in Scotland all her life (Edinburgh and the Highlands) and understands how to balance iconic attractions with hidden gems.
