Directly across from the harbour, this wonderful Pittenweem restaurant specialises in the most incredible seafood dishes. The menu at the Dory Bistro is packed with local ingredients and based around the days catch. It’s a great option if you’re looking for a slightly more formal dining option, though the atmosphere inside the Dory Bistro is very relaxed.

The menu includes wonderful dishes like pan-fried Pittenweem mackerel fillets, Cumbrae oysters, and crab velouté. This Pittenweem restaurant also caters incredibly for vegetarians with options such as grilled cauliflower & celeriac purée and caramelised beetroot & gorgonzola.

3. Cocoa Tree Cafe

Best for: a light lunch and sweet treats

Location: 9 High St, Pittenweem, KY10 2LA

If you’re looking for a relaxed lunch followed by sweet treats, the Cocoa Tree Cafe is a must. This little Pittenweem restaurant has a small but lovely lunch menu of toasted focaccia rolls with delicious fillings like pesto or humous.

But the real delight at the Cocoa Tree Cafe is the speciality hot chocolate. It’s utterly delicious! The clue is in the name and chocolate is a big deal here, even in the mouth-watering cake selection like chocolate brownies and waffles smothered in Belgian chocolate.

4. West End Bar

Best for: classic British pub grub

Location: 30-32 South Loan, Pittenweem, KY10 2QB

The West End Bar is Pittenweem’s village pub and it serves up a classic pub grub menu. Expect crowd-pleasing favourites like burgers or scampi, alongside specials such as haddock fillet baked with lemon and the very delicious steak frites. The West End Bar is also the perfect place to experience the local speciality - beer battered fish and fluffy chips.

Inside is a wonderfully cosy space. But if you’re lucky to visit Pittenweem on a sunny day choose the south-facing beer garden for food or a G&T.
