Stiff Peaks Patisserie, Glencoe: Artisan Bakery in The Highlands
Stiff Peaks Patesserie
Stiff Peaks is a small seasonal bakery in Glencoe known for its French-inspired pastries, savoury bakes, and focaccia sandwiches.
Rather than a traditional café, Stiff Peaks focuses on freshly baked, handmade goods to take away, with a counter and display cabinet filled with daily bakes that often attract a steady queue in the mornings.
Opened in 2022, the bakery is run by chef-owner Lyndsay Michie, who trained with Michel Roux Jr and Andrew Fairlie, and that background shows in the attention to detail and quality of the baking.
the Menu
The menu changes daily, but you can expect flaky pastries, French-style patisserie, savoury sausage rolls, and creative, generously filled sandwiches made with seasonal ingredients. Everything tends to sell out quickly, often well before lunchtime, so an early visit is usually best.
Recommendations
We’re especially partial to the carrot cake and lemon meringues, both of which have become signature bakes and are well worth picking up if they’re available. But the hearty pork-and-apple sausage rolls are equally delicious.
It also pairs easily with a coffee stop at Glencoe Farm Shop & Café for a well-made flat white just a short drive away.
Opening hours
Generally open Wednesday to Saturday and seasonal, so it’s best to check their social media for current hours before visiting.
Location
Located just off the main road through the village, it’s an easy and popular lunch stop for anyone travelling through the valley.
If you’re planning a day in Glencoe, Stiff Peaks works well as a morning stop before heading out on nearby walks, whether you’re exploring the valley itself or continuing towards Fort William, Oban, or further along the West Coast.
