This road trip route-planning service is designed to turn your wish list into a daily driving route tailored to your interests, pace, and priorities.
With experience creating hundreds of tailored itineraries and a background working with VisitScotland, we help you avoid common pitfalls and make the most of every day in Scotland.
You’ll receive a clear, ready-to-follow road trip route, realistic driving times, sensible overnight stops, and expert, local guidance – so your trip flows naturally and avoids common pitfalls.
And while this service is ideal for self-drive itineraries in Scotland, it can be adapted for public transport. We’ll share train and bus routes, luggage storage options, timetables, and practical tips for booking tickets and staying near stations.
This service is perfect for travellers who want a clear route around Scotland, without the bells & whistles of a full itinerary.

How It Works
Step 1: Tell Me About Your Trip
Our first step is to secure your booking - you’ll receive a payment link to confirm your service. Once payment is received, we’ll ask you to complete this short planning questionnaire. This helps us understand your travel dates, preferred pace, interests and key priorities, ensuring your itinerary is thoughtfully personalised from the very beginning.
Step 2: Your Route Outline & Toolkit
Within five working days, you’ll receive a daily route outline and interactive maps to help you visualise how your trip flows. At this stage, you can request adjustments. We refine the structure together to ensure the route feels balanced, realistic, and right for you.
You’ll also receive access to our Scotland Planning Portal, with car rental advice and our list of carefully curated hotels and stays.
Step 3: Your Detailed Scotland Itinerary
Once the route is agreed upon, I will develop it further. This includes a fully pinned Google Map for each day, along with expert tips based on our local knowledge, practical notes, logistics, timings, and parking.
The final route is shared as an editable Word document and/or via a private online portal, so you can easily access and use it throughout your trip.

About Your Planners
Local expertise
We’re Lesley and Trev, Scotland itinerary planners with decades of first-hand experience travelling our wee country. Personal advice
Between us, we’ve road-tripped, hiked, toured, driven, and holidayed all over Scotland. That means your itinerary is built on genuine local knowledge - we’ve driven the roads, visited the castles, sampled the distilleries, and stayed in the places we suggest. Unlike faceless tour operators, our advice is personal, practical, and rooted in experience.
Tailored trips
We also understand how overwhelming planning a Scotland trip can feel. There’s so much to see, so many routes to consider, and limited time to get it right!
Our role is to simplify the process, make booking easy, and design a journey that creates a lifetime of memories. And we take the time to understand how you like to travel and shape each itinerary personally for you.
