Benidorm Wine Tasting: Best Vineyard Tours Near Benidorm
Looking for wine tasting and winery tours near Benidorm? We spent a week soaking up the sun and exploring leafy vineyards, and we’re sharing our favourites below.

Looking for the best Benidorm wine tasting experiences? After spending a week in the sun-drenched Costa Blanca resort, I’ve compiled a guide of the best vineyards, historic bodegas, and award-winning wines for you to visit this summer.
With its lush, leafy vineyards, this province (Alicante) offers a wide range of wine-tasting day trips that are perfect for Benidorm travellers looking to explore beyond the town’s beaches and boujee eateries.
One of Spain’s most underrated wine regions, Costa Blanca is something of an underdog when it comes to Spanish wine - you could say that vineyards in this region are often overshadowed by their more famous counterparts, like Rioja and Montsant.
Yet having spent a sunny day in one of the area’s best wineries, I can confirm: the wine produced in Costa Blanca is exceptional!
The wineries near Benidorm are part of the Alicante Wine Route (Ruta del Vino de Alicante), an official wine tourism trail connecting 20+ wineries across the region.
In this guide, you’ll find the best wineries and vineyards near Benidorm. Each offers immersive wine tasting tours, guided vineyard trips, and the chance to sample the local grapes that make this region so special.
Ready to sample some local wine? Here are my top places to go wine tasting near Benidorm.
Quick Guide: Benidorm Wine Tasting
These are our favourite Benidorm vineyards and wine tasting tours; you’ll find all the details on cost and how to get there below!
Bodegas Enrique Mendoza is the closest and most refined winery to Benidorm, just 15 minutes away, offering tastings with gourmet tapas.
Bodegas Xaló and Riko in the Vall de Pop are excellent for sweet Moscatel wines and rustic, authentic vineyard tours.
Bodegas Bocopa in Petrer provides a polished, larger-scale experience with award-winning whites and reds.
Celler La Muntanya focuses on sustainability and rare native grapes — ideal for wine enthusiasts looking for something unique.
Getting around Benidorm’s wineries
While Benidorm’s best wineries are easily accessible from the resort, there’s little public transport in the area. Having your own car is the best way to get around (we use Discover Cars for our car hire in Spain), but for that to work, you’ll also need a designated driver.
Now, if everyone in your group wants to participate in the wine tasting, a winery tour that includes transport and entry tickets is by far the best option.
Most tours leave from neighbouring Alicante, and you can take the tram from Benidorm to Alicante for around €5 return. The journey takes just over an hour, so factor that into your plans.
Although we only had the chance to visit one winery, I saved a few different experiences that I feel would be worth carving time out for:
Wine tour from Benidorm: the closest option, includes winery entry, tasting and tapas.
Countryside wine tour from Alicante: countryside tour, bodega entry, and tasting.
Historic wine tour from Alicante: historic wine tour, winery entry, tasting, and snacks.
Best Benidorm Wine Tasting Tours and Wineries
These are our favourite wine tasting tours and vineyards closest to Benidorm: boutique wineries producing everything from bold Monastrell reds to refreshing Moscatel whites. We’ve chosen these vineyards because they offer authentic, small-scale wine experiences, gorgeous countryside views, and unique wines you won’t find in supermarkets!
1. Bodegas Enrique Mendoza (closest winery to Benidorm)
Location: L'Alfàs del Pi (15 mins from Benidorm)
This boutique winery is just a 15-minute drive from Benidorm and offers one of the most polished wine experiences in the region. Bodegas Enrique Mendoza produces elegant reds and aromatic whites, all grown with sustainable techniques.
Known for their organic practices, premium reds, grapes include Monastrell, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Petit Verdot.
We spent a gorgeous, sun-drenched afternoon at Bodegas Enrique Mendoza and it was one of the highlights of our entire trip. I cannot rave more about this experience with a local winery, and it’s a wonderful thing to do after a few days in Benidorm!
You’ll get an understanding of how wine is made, a tour of the leafy vineyard and manicured gardens, and a peek into the warehouse.
We were also part of a small group, which I appreciated, and throughout the tour our expert guide gave us insight into culture and history, before we tasted seven wines with tapas. All were delicious.
All the photos in this post are from Bodegas Enrique Mendoza. This charming bodega has one of the most impressive exteriors, and as you pass through the courtyard, it greets you with a “wow” factor.

2. Bodegas Xaló (traditional wine tasting in the Vall de Pop)
Location: Xaló (1 hour from Benidorm)
Located in a beautiful inland valley, Bodegas Xaló is a cooperative specialising in Moscatel-based wines — from light, floral whites to dessert-friendly sweet wines.
If you can, visit on Saturday when the Xaló flea market happens, and pick up local artisan products and souveniers. Or be prepared to pick up all manner of tempting delicies from the winery shop; as well as wine, you’ll find cured meats, local honey, oils, and cheese.

3. Bodegas Riko (family winery)
Location: Xaló (1 hour from Benidorm)
Bodegas Riko offers an intimate tasting experience, showcasing small-batch wines rooted in family heritage. We didn’t get a chance to visit, but this winery is on my list of places to visit on a future trip; it’s one of the oldest on our list, whose origins date back to 1921.
Today this fourth-generation specialises in Moscatel wines and local grape varierities but are best kown for their organic methods and field-to-glass ethos.
Tour: Visitors can wander through the vineyard and winery, and taste five wines with tapas.
Book: Book online through their website. Tours cost from €23 per person.
4. Bodegas Bocopa (modern winery)
Location: Petrer (1 hour from Benidorm)
As one of Alicante’s most prominent wineries, Bocopa offers a slick and informative wine tourism experience. Their "Marina Alta" Moscatel white and "Laudum" red ranges are perfect for those new to Spanish wines.
You’ll find Moscatel, Monastrell, and Chardonnay amongst their award-winning and high qualiy wines. And although the award-winning winery is larger scale than others on the list, a visit here is a must for serious wine lovers.
Tour: Book the 4-hour guided tour through the facility, ending with a full tasting flight. Costs from €25 per person.
Book: Book online via Bocopa’s website.
5. Celler La Muntanya (micro-vineyard)
Location: Muro de Alcoy (Just under 1 hour from Benidorm)
This innovative winery partners with local growers to revive historic vineyards and native grape varieties. If you're a wine enthusiast looking for something different, this is your spot.
