Wander Scotland Membership Terms & Conditions

Last updated: September 2026

These Terms & Conditions apply to membership of the Wander Scotland business community. By joining Wander Scotland, you agree to these terms.

1. Who can join

Wander Scotland Membership is open to businesses operating in Scotland within the tourism, hospitality, food and drink, retail, visitor attraction, travel and related sectors.

We reserve the right to decide whether a business is suitable for membership and may decline an application where we feel the business does not fit with the purpose or values of Wander Scotland.

2. Membership

Wander Scotland Membership provides access to the benefits and opportunities described on the Wander Scotland website at the time of joining.

These may include a business profile, inclusion in the Wander Scotland directory and interactive map, opportunities to be featured in relevant itineraries and destination guides, access to the Wander Scotland Community, member communications, events and selected promotional opportunities.

We may introduce, amend or remove individual benefits and features as the membership develops. Where possible, we will provide reasonable notice of any significant changes.

Membership does not guarantee a particular level of website traffic, enquiries, bookings, sales, social media reach or other commercial results.

3. Membership fee

The introductory membership fee is £75 per year.

This introductory rate applies to businesses joining during 2026. Membership pricing may increase in the future. We will communicate any new pricing before it applies to a new or renewed membership period.

4. Membership payment and automatic renewal

You can pay your membership annually by card through Squarespace and Square Payments, or by bank transfer.

Card payments: Membership paid by card will automatically renew each year unless it is cancelled before the next renewal date. The renewal payment will be taken using the payment method held on file. Members are responsible for ensuring their payment details remain up to date.

Bank transfer: Membership paid by bank transfer does not automatically renew. It is the member’s responsibility to contact Wander Scotland at the email address provided during sign-up in advance of their renewal date if they wish to continue their membership. We will provide the relevant bank details or issue an invoice upon request.

Membership fees are non-refundable once payment has been made.

5. Partnership fees

Wander Scotland Partner packages are bespoke and agreed on an individual basis. Partnership fees, duration, inclusions and any agreed deliverables will be confirmed in writing before the partnership begins.

Partnerships may run for different periods, from one year to several years, depending on the agreement.

Partnerships do not automatically renew. Any extension or renewal will be discussed and agreed separately before the end of the agreed partnership period.

Partnership fees are non-refundable once the partnership has commenced, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

6. Your profile and business information

Wander Scotland is responsible for creating and reasonably updating your membership profile based on the information you provide.

Before your profile goes live, we will provide a password-protected preview for you to review and approve.

You are responsible for keeping Wander Scotland informed of any changes to your business information, including prices, opening hours, contact details, website and booking links, services or experiences, images, video, descriptions and seasonal availability.

You should notify us promptly when information changes. While we will make reasonable efforts to keep profiles up to date, we cannot be responsible for outdated or inaccurate information where we have not been informed of a change.

7. Images, video and other content

You must own the copyright in, or have the necessary rights and permissions to provide, any photographs, videos, logos, written content or other materials supplied to Wander Scotland.

By providing content, you confirm that you have the necessary rights and permissions for Wander Scotland to use that content.

You grant Wander Scotland permission to use the content you provide for the purpose of creating, maintaining and promoting your membership profile and related Wander Scotland content.

If your rights or permissions for any content change or expire, you must notify us promptly.

8. Editorial content and promotional opportunities

Membership does not guarantee editorial coverage.

Wander Scotland retains editorial discretion over which businesses, places and experiences are included in its blog, social media, newsletters, guides, itineraries, magazines and other editorial content.

Where members are included in itineraries, destination guides, or other editorial content, we will do so where we feel there is a natural fit for our audience.

Additional promotional opportunities, including social media, email and relevant editorial promotion, may be available to members for an additional fee.

Wander Scotland may offer larger or ongoing promotional campaigns through separate Wander Scotland Partner packages.

9. Member community and behaviour

The Wander Scotland Community is intended to be a friendly, supportive and constructive space for Scottish tourism and hospitality businesses.

Members are expected to communicate respectfully and behave in ways that support the purpose and values of the community.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate membership where a member engages in abusive, discriminatory, threatening, dishonest or otherwise inappropriate behaviour, or conduct that is inconsistent with the purpose or values of Wander Scotland.

Where membership is terminated for serious misconduct or a significant breach of these terms, no refund will be provided.

10. Links and third-party services

Wander Scotland may provide links to member websites, booking platforms and other third-party services.

We are not responsible for the content, availability, security, pricing, bookings or services provided by third parties.

Members are responsible for ensuring that the links and business information they provide to Wander Scotland are accurate and functioning.

11. Changes to membership

Wander Scotland may add, amend or remove membership features and benefits as the service develops.

We may also change membership pricing for future membership periods. Any price change will not affect a membership period you have already paid for.

12. Cancellation and ending membership

You may cancel your membership at any time by contacting Wander Scotland. Cancellation will prevent your membership from automatically renewing at the end of the current paid membership period.

Membership fees already paid are non-refundable.

When membership ends, your profile will be removed, and your business will be removed from the Wander Scotland directory, interactive map and other membership-specific listings or mentions.

Any editorial content created independently of your membership will be reviewed and managed at Wander Scotland’s editorial discretion.

13. Termination by Wander Scotland

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate membership where:

  • these Terms & Conditions have been breached;

  • misleading or fraudulent information has been provided;

  • the membership or community has been used inappropriately;

  • a member engages in behaviour that is abusive, threatening, discriminatory or otherwise inappropriate;

  • a member’s conduct is seriously inconsistent with the values or purpose of Wander Scotland; or

  • the business no longer meets the eligibility requirements for membership.

Where appropriate, we will contact the member before taking action and, where possible, provide an opportunity to resolve the issue.

We will not provide a refund where membership is terminated because of serious misconduct or a significant breach of these terms.

14. Liability

We take reasonable care to provide the membership service and maintain member profiles, directories, and related resources.

However, we do not guarantee that the Wander Scotland website, directory, interactive map, community or other digital services will always be available, uninterrupted or free from errors.

We do not guarantee any particular level of traffic, enquiries, bookings, sales, social media reach or other commercial results from membership or partnership activity.

Wander Scotland is not responsible for losses arising from inaccurate information supplied by a member, third-party services or platforms, or circumstances outside our reasonable control.

15. Privacy

Personal information provided as part of membership will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

16. Governing law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of Scotland, and any disputes arising in connection with these terms will be subject to the jurisdiction of the Scottish courts.

17. Acceptance

By submitting a membership application and making payment, you confirm that you have read, understood and agree to these Terms & Conditions.
